What We Believe
At Faith Harvest, we simply love Jesus and people. Our faith is built on the truth of God’s Word, and we seek to follow Christ with wholehearted devotion. Below is a summary of our core beliefs—but no matter where you are on your journey, know that you are welcome here just as you are.
We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired, infallible Word of God, profitable for doctrine, reproof, for correction and instruction in righteousness. We believe there is only one God, existing and revealing Himself in these persons: God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the beginning God created all things by His Word. The heavens and the earth, all creatures great and small were created in a literal six days according to the book of Genesis. We believe on the sixth day man was created unique from all other creatures for he was made in the image of God and given dominion. We renounce the theory of Evolution. We believe man was created perfect and sinless but because of the fall in the garden man is separated from God, born with a sin nature and in need of a savior. We believe Jesus of Nazareth is the Word made flesh. He was fully God and man. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and worked many miracles. He allowed Himself to be tortured and nailed to the cross. He was crucified till dead. We believe Jesus was buried and three days later rose from the dead and led captivity captive and now holds the keys to death and hell. We believe Jesus was seen by many witnesses after His resurrection and many witnesses watched Him ascend into heaven and now, He sits at the right hand of the Father. We believe everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and the penalty for sin is eternal separation from God in a literal burning hell. We believe that God so loved us that He made a way to be reconciled to Himself through faith in Jesus, His work on the cross and repentance of our sins. The blood of Jesus washes all our sins away. We are spiritually born again and become new creatures when we receive Jesus. We believe we are saved by belief on Jesus' complete work, confession of His name, faith in His resurrection and repentance of sins. We are not saved by works but by grace. Salvation is like a good tree and will produce good fruit. We believe after the new birth every person should be water baptized, totally emersed in water following the command of Jesus, "Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." We believe in remembering the death of Jesus by taking communion. The bread represents Jesus' broken body, and the grape juice represents His shed blood. By His stripes we are healed. We believe in sanctification by the blood of Jesus and personal holiness. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is a necessary step after salvation to receive power from on high and to lead a consistent, bold life for Jesus. We believe in divine healing and health for our physical bodies, the laying on of hands and anointing with oil in the Name of Jesus for the healing of the sick. We believe Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever and all the gifts that operated through Jesus, the apostles and believers in the early church can and should operate consistently in the church today and through His disciples in all the world; including speaking in tongues, casting out demons, healing the sick, raising the dead and all of the miracles and signs, gifts of God. We believe in a literal rapture of the church where Jesus will return for His bride and a Second Coming where He will return to rule the earth for eternity. We believe in the unity of believers, all those born again, confessing the Name of Jesus. Even though we differ in doctrines we agree on the foundational doctrines of Christ. We believe as a church that: “the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and day of vengeance of our God. To comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. That they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified. Isaiah 61:1-3
